Cricket Odds API Guide: International Cricket and the IPL

League keys, market types and periods for cricket, and how a draw is handled.

Cricket is in SockOdds API v1 as the sport cricket, with two leagues: cricket for international cricket and ipl for the Indian Premier League. This guide covers the keys, the 9 market types the catalogue defines for cricket, and what to expect from prices.

The league keys

Use league=cricket or league=ipl on any route that takes a league: GET /v1/events, GET /v1/odds, GET /v1/markets, GET /v1/teams and GET /v1/results. Read the keys from the catalogue instead of typing them:

curl -sS "https://api.sockodds.com/v1/leagues?sport=cricket" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SOCKODDS_API_KEY"
const response = await fetch("https://api.sockodds.com/v1/leagues?sport=cricket", {
  headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.SOCKODDS_API_KEY}` },
});
console.log(JSON.stringify(await response.json(), null, 2));
import json, os, urllib.request

request = urllib.request.Request(
    "https://api.sockodds.com/v1/leagues?sport=cricket",
    headers={"Authorization": "Bearer " + os.environ["SOCKODDS_API_KEY"]},
)
with urllib.request.urlopen(request) as response:
    print(json.dumps(json.load(response), indent=2))

  • winner is the match winner with sides home and away, for formats where the match ends with a winner.
  • result is the three-way market with a draw, for matches that can be drawn, such as Tests.
  • player_runs_over_under is a batter's runs with a line on each outcome. The batter is the market's subject, with a pl_ id that stays the same across bookmakers and matches. Fifty or more runs is the over at 49.5.

Cricket markets are on the full period: the whole match.

When prices appear

As of 30 October 2026 no bookmaker was delivering cricket prices to v1, so GET /v1/odds?league=ipl returns games with an empty markets list, or no games at all, until they do. The leagues and markets stay in the catalogue so you can build against the keys now, and prices arrive in the same response shape as every other sport once bookmakers deliver them. The leagues page shows which leagues have bookmakers delivering today.

We would rather tell you that than list markets we are not pricing. If cricket is what you need, contact us and tell us which competitions and markets matter to you.

Same shape as every other sport

Nothing about cricket needs its own code. An odds response is an event with markets, each with outcomes, each with prices: one per bookmaker, best first, and every price has the bookmaker's key, decimal_odds exactly as the bookmaker showed it and observed_at, the moment we saw it. Each market and outcome appears once with every bookmaker's price on it, so a best-price comparison reads each outcome's first price, as in the odds comparison example.

Cricket is on Rookie and Pro, not on the free Developer plan. See pricing.
