SockOdds vs The Odds API
What each API covers, what it costs and how usage is counted, from our docs and The Odds API's own pages.
Both are odds data APIs, built for different jobs. The Odds API: Developers wanting odds from bookmakers around the world, with Excel and Google Sheets add-ons for non-developers. SockOdds: decimal prices from Australian and global bookmakers, exchanges and prediction markets, each with the time we saw it, readable keys, recorded history and official results.
Everything below about The Odds API comes from its own pages, read on 13 October 2026 and listed under Sources. Where its pages are silent, we say so rather than guess.

- AFL, NRL and rugby league. Australian football and rugby league are leagues of their own, with player markets, periods down to quarters and halves, and results graded from official sources, dead heats included.
- Prices as shown. Decimal prices exactly as each bookmaker showed them, never converted or devigged, each with
observed_at. - Readable keys and stable ids. Leagues, teams, bookmakers and market types are readable keys; events, players, markets and outcomes have ids that stay the same across bookmakers, and results use the same outcome ids.
- A free plan and published prices. Developer: 2,500 objects a month at 10 requests a minute, with Sportsbet, TAB and Ladbrokes, on MLB, NFL, AFL, NRL, Rugby League World Cup and Rugby League World Cup Women's. No card. Paid plans are on the pricing page.
Moving a request to SockOdds
Read our leagues and market types once from GET /v1/leagues and GET /v1/markets, then ask for the prices you show. Send your key in the Authorization: Bearer header, from your server. A round of AFL head to head, line and total prices at two bookmakers is one request:
